FAT, FRIEND OR FOE. A talk by Dave Wrathall

Fat, Friend or Foe.  Quaker Barn 5th February 7.30 p.m.

ANVIL is Wincanton’s structured discussion group which tackles controversial subjects and you are invited to our first meeting of 2020, Science teacher Dave Wrathall will be speaking about diet, in particular our attitude to eating fat. This is his introduction:

“What if we have been misled about what is healthy and what is not? What if the food we eat is poisoning us? What if cancer, heart disease and dementia are not diseases of aging, but simply the consequences of the food choices we make?”

With so many of us worried about the food we eat and many attracted to vegetarianism or the vegan path, Dave’s talk makes for a thought-provoking evening.  If you would like to come and take part in the discussion or just listen, please email johnbaxter119@nullgmail.com.  We start at 7.30 p.m. and you are asked to bring £3 towards refreshments and expenses.

P.S.  To prepare for the evening some might like to listen to this youtube video by Nina Teicholz   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJEHiQKqfZM

Dave gave us an excellent talk and more will follow to report it here, but for the moment he has sent this list of talks on UTube he has found useful and thinks we would.
